Christian fellowship comes about when God calls people into union with Christ Jesus through the Gospel. Our fellowship with Christ, given to us through faith in Him, immediately places us into God’s family of believers, the church in heaven as well as the church on earth.
They spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking part in the fellowship, and sharing in the fellowship meals and the prayers. (Acts 2: 42)
Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1: 5-9)
